HYOUSTON DIVERCITY FEST (HD Fest) is a festival that draws international and internationally minded young artists from the Houston area to present world cultures through art, music, dance, presentation, talents and more to demonstrate how diversity can be communicated across cultural and linguistic barriers. The festival will bring together representatives from various UNICEF programs, schools, faith-based institutions, diaspora communities, partner organizations and underrepresented populations to inspire joint action for a better inclusion in Houston.
Diversity is in each and every one of you! We are all diverse and we have something to share. I encourage you to dig deeper and find what your cause is and how your talents, experiences and activities shine light on your message to the world. And yes, you all have a talent! Check out the categories and submit your idea now! If your idea does not fit in any of the categories, please submit under ‘YOUR IDEA’.
The festival will take the form of groups showcasing diversity they represent through art. Each group will submit a proposal for an art type to present and will be eligible for a small grant to reimburse the costs associated with their activities. When submitting your entry, please select that you would like to be considered for funding to develop your idea and explain the financial need.
The best ideas among presentations receive generous prizes to inspire further activities like focusing on global art expressions. We will award the top 5 submissions on the day of the festival for each age category. All participants that are selected to present their idea will be also awarded with recognition certificate from UNICEF USA as well as given prizes.
